DGPML for THz Spectroscopy
Amino-acid classification from terahertz absorption spectra.
Terahertz spectroscopy can probe biomolecular rotational and vibrational signatures, but robust classification of amino-acid fingerprint spectra remains challenging under scattering noise and varying experimental conditions. This work introduced a discrete Gaussian process and maximum likelihood model for classifying 20 amino acids, achieving high accuracy with substantially reduced training and inference cost.
